Lalibela is a small town in the highlands of northern Ethiopia. It's home to 11 medieval monolithic cave churches built in the 13th century. These churches are known as the "New Jerusalem" and are considered a cultural heritage complex. They are surrounded by a labyrinth of tunnels and passageways that are still used today.
